Malvern, Pa. (Jan. 20, 2025)Healthmonix is proud to announce the release of the 2025 Mental and Behavioral Health Registry (MBHR), a specialized Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) developed with the American Psychological Association to improve care for individuals with mental and behavioral health conditions. This registry provides healthcare providers with essential tools to track, report, and optimize clinical outcomes in the treatment of mental health and behavioral disorders.

2025 (10)

The 2025 MBHR introduces a suite of evidence-based measures focused on various aspects of mental and behavioral health, including assessments for anxiety, cognitive function, and patient outcomes following treatment. These measures are designed to help clinicians deliver more effective care, enhance patient safety, and align with national quality reporting standards.

Key measures available in the 2025 MBHR

  1. New for 2025: Trauma Screening and Re-Traumatization Prevention (MBHR19)
This measure screens for a history of lifetime trauma exposure in adults using a systematic
    screening method.
  2. Use of Anxiety Severity Measure (MBHR1)
This measure is aimed at providing an evidence-based method to assess the severity of anxiety symptoms in patients, helping clinicians make informed treatment decisions.
  3. Anxiety Response at 6 Months (MBHR2)
This measure evaluates the patient’s response to anxiety treatment over a 6-month period, promoting long-term care planning and improved patient outcomes.
  4. Cognitive Assessment with Counseling on Safety (MBHR11)
This measure is focused on assessing cognitive function and ensuring that patients receive appropriate counseling on safety concerns related to cognitive impairments.
  5. Comprehensive Cognitive Assessment Assisting with Treatment Decisions (MBHR16) This comprehensive measure is aimed at ensuring that cognitive assessments are used to guide treatment decisions and improve patient care in mental health settings.

Streamlining mental health reporting

The 2025 MBHR is tailored to meet the unique needs of mental health and behavioral health providers by offering a streamlined approach to reporting and performance tracking. It includes measures related to a wide array of clinical issues, including anxiety, cognitive function, and functional impairments, allowing providers to enhance care delivery and improve clinical outcomes.

“The American Psychological Association has developed these measures in collaboration with an advisory committee of experts in the field to ensure that the MBHR measures being reported in MIPS are meaningful to the providers and patients that they serve,” said Vaile Wright, Ph.D., Senior Director of Health Care Innovation at APA.

Supporting mental health providers with data insights

In addition to its focus on specialized measures, the 2025 MBHR integrates with leading electronic health record (EHR) systems, enabling seamless data exchange and reducing reporting burden for providers. By leveraging this registry, healthcare organizations can reduce complexity, ensure compliance, and enhance overall care coordination.

“Healthmonix is committed to advancing mental health care by providing providers with actionable insights that help improve patient care and outcomes,” said Lauren Patrick, President of Healthmonix. “The 2025 MBHR is designed to support clinicians with the tools they need to track progress, measure effectiveness, and improve the quality of mental and behavioral health care.”
